Letter days for elementary students (including those at Pittsville Elementary and Middle) are posted before each week of classes during the school year. The schedule of letter days can be found on school web pages in Live Feed, on the school system's main website in Live Feed and the home page gallery, and on social media. The letter days schedule is provided in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole.
The Family Portal, an invaluable information resource for parents and guardians and students, is now open for the 2024-2025 school year. Hi everyone! My name is Lindsay Peake and I will be teaching social studies, science, and intervention in 4th grade! I am so excited to be joining the team at East Salisbury. I was inspired to become a teacher because of the impact my teachers had on me. I hope to inspire and encourage scholars to love themselves and learning. Some of my favorite things to do include reading, photography, and spending time with family. I am most excited to build relationships with scholars and grow together!
Hi! I’m Laura Miles, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to join you as your new assistant principal. As a proud graduate of Parkside High School. I’m excited to bring my deep passion for education and social justice to our vibrant school community. With degrees from North Carolina Central University and North Carolina A&T State University including a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Criminal Justice, a Master’s in Teaching, and a Master’s in School Administration. I have taught as an inclusion teacher in Houston ISD, physical education and health teacher in Wicomico County Public Schools at Choices Academy and in Durham Public Schools in North Carolina. I’ve been fortunate to gain a broad perspective on leadership and community engagement. These experiences have shaped my dedication to creating a nurturing and inspiring learning environment where every scholar can thrive and succeed.
On a personal note, I’m a huge sports fan, especially when it comes to basketball, so do not be surprised if you see me showing off my favorite sports team gear. I enjoy watching Marvel movies. I’m also a certified sneaker enthusiast and an incredibly proud mother to two amazing daughters, Yurianna and Gabriella. I have a deep love for pretzel salad and seafood of all kinds, and I’m overjoyed to be back home on the Eastern Shore. I can’t wait to meet each of you scholars, teachers, staff, families, and the entire community. Together, let’s build a supportive and dynamic learning atmosphere at East Salisbury. Hello, my name is Tiera Tilghman, and I will be the new 3rd grade Math/Science Teacher here at East Salisbury. I graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a BA in Early Child Development and am currently attending Salisbury University to earn my Early Education degree. For the past three years, I have been an IA at East Salisbury, assisting scholars with reading intervention and sound partners.
As a third-grade teacher, my goals are to inspire a love of learning and build strong foundational skills in math and science. I want to make a positive impact on the lives of my scholars, fostering their growth and development just as I was encouraged and supported.

Hi, my name is Paige Folke. I was inspired to become a teacher because I want to make a difference in scholar's lives. My favorite thing about teaching is building connections with my scholars. I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family and friends. One fun fact about me is that I am planning a trip to Sweden next summer to see family. I am most excited about getting to know my fellow teachers and learning new ways to engage and educate scholars.
Hi everyone! My name is Trinity Parker and I am a 2024 graduate from The University of Maryland Eastern Shore. I am extremely excited to begin my teaching career, as a 5th grade ELA teacher here at East Salisbury. I am committed to creating an environment where every scholar feels loved, valued, heard, and seen. This school year will be a journey that is not just about academics. It is about nurturing confident, empathetic, and curious individuals. I can't wait to embark on this adventure with my scholars and watch us all grow and thrive together.
Hi! My name is Benjamine Charles and I am a 2024 graduate of Salisbury University. I am excited to start my teaching career at East Salisbury Elementary! My favorite thing about being a teacher is the long-lasting relationships that are formed. As a teacher I want my scholars to feel safe and know that I am someone that will always be in their corner. I will push them to be the best that they can be. My biggest inspirations are my elementary school teachers that provided me with a safe and nurturing learning environment. I am most excited about meeting my scholars and creating a classroom family where all my scholars feel loved, respected and cared for.

JUST 27 DAYS AWAY! The annual “Fresh Start: A Wicomico County Back-to-School Event” is returning on Sunday, August 25th! The event will take place at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center from 1 to 4 p.m.
This is for Wicomico County students in-need from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Students will receive a Free backpack along with several essential school supplies (while supplies last as this is first come, first serve). A child must be present with an adult to receive school supplies.

Schedule for Wicomico County Public Schools this week: School system will be closed Thursday, July 4 for the Independence Day holiday. On Friday, July 5th, school system offices will be open, school office hours will vary (call ahead), and summer school classes and programs will not be held.
The schedule of elementary letter days is posted weekly in the Live Feed on the school system's home page and on elementary school home pages, including Pittsville Elementary & Middle. (Use of the letter day in middle schools varies by school; please check with the school for details.)
