Schedule for Wicomico County Public Schools this week: School system will be closed Thursday, July 4 for the Independence Day holiday. On Friday, July 5th, school system offices will be open, school office hours will vary (call ahead), and summer school classes and programs will not be held.

your child received their first Kids Read Now book, a bracelet and the KRN Parent Guide today at school.
The other 7 books they selected to read will be mailed directly to them over the summer.
Have your child read their selected book or read it together. Once completed, report the book one of four ways:
Scan the QR code inside the book cover

Text the 3 digit book code to 576576
Log onto the website https://kidsreadnow.org/
Simply use your personal email address or cell phone number to login.
If you help your child to report that they read all 8 books they will be rewarded with a certificate and prizes in the fall.

A wonderful time was had last evening by all who attended our Skillin' & Grillin' event. It was great seeing our Gators celebrating the men in their lives while working on math strategies and having some outdoor fun!
Early Dismissal schedule for the last 3 days of school:
June 10th, 11th, and 12th will all be early dismissal days, with schools closing 3 hours early.

In accordance with the Board of Education Public Comments Protocol Policy, pre-registration for public comments is required. Last week, we had a blast celebrating the women in our lives at our Literacy Paint Night. We read a book titled Maybe Something Beautiful, and we had a wonderful paint session led by Chipman/Willards Art Teacher, Ms. Zimmerman! 3rd Grade Teacher Ms. Wise shared some reading comprehension and writing strategies that our scholars can practice during the summer. It was an awesome time!
Upcoming Board of Education Monthly Meeting Dates and Times:
Board of Education monthly meetings will take place on these second Tuesdays through the summer:
June 11 at 1:30 p.m.,
July 9 at 7 p.m.,
and Aug. 13 at 1:30 p.m.
The Board of Education meets on the second Tuesday of each month, at 7 p.m. in odd-numbered months and 1:30 p.m. in even-numbered months.
Note: The date of the May 2024 Board meeting was moved from May 14 to May 7 due to the Maryland Primary Election on the later date. The meeting time was adjusted from 7 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. to remove a scheduling conflict with the Wicomico County budget hearing the evening of May 7.
