Ms. Alexan Dargan

Mrs. Alexan Dargan received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in Business Administration from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pa. She also earned her graduate degree in Administration from Salisbury University. Mrs. Dargan began her teaching career in Pennsylvania at the intermediate and high school levels prior to joining the Wicomico County Public School system. She taught 1st Grade at Beaver Run Elementary and has also served as the school's Assistant Principal. In addition, Mrs. Dargan was the Assistant Principal for Charles H. Chipman Elementary and Pinehurst Elementary prior to joining the Northwestern Elementary family as their Principal as of July 1, 2020. She values fostering positive academic, emotional, social, and physical growth in a nurturing risk-free environment, and believes that the critical part of her role in is building positive relationships with students, families, and staff. When not spending time with her school family, Mrs. Dargan enjoys spending time camping and cooking with her husband, Patrick, and her two children, Avriana and Paxtan.

Assistant Principal

Kaytlin Curren

Kaytlin Curren

Mrs. Kaytlin Curren received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from High Point University in North Carolina. She earned her graduate degree in Educational Leadership from Wilmington University.

Mrs. Curren began her teaching career in Davidson County Public Schools in North Carolina. As a native of the Eastern Shore, Mrs. Curren returned to Maryland where she taught 5th grade at Greensboro Elementary School in Caroline County. In 2016 she became a Math Specialist while serving in many leadership capacities within the school system. Mrs. Curren was promoted to Assistant Principal at Greensboro Elementary School in 2019. In 2022, Mrs. Curren and her family moved to Salisbury, Maryland where she was appointed as the Assistant Principal at Pemberton Elementary School until joining the Northwestern family as the Assistant Principal for the 2024-2025 school year.

As a champion for education, she is dedicated to serving the families of Wicomico County Public Schools and fostering a love of learning! During her free time, Mrs. Curren loves spending quality time with her husband, Paul, two daughters, Eliza and Laylin, and mini labradoodle, Elsie.
