As we honor those who have served this Veterans Day, the elementary T.A.D. team is excited to share how our upcoming unit will celebrate and preserve their stories. Wicomico County Gifted and Talented T.A.D. program is launching "Historical Documentaries: Preserving the Past for Future Generations." This February, students will meet with local Vietnam War veterans to hear firsthand accounts of their service, creating powerful photo history books that capture these invaluable memories. We're seeking veterans willing to share their stories with small groups of eager 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. If you know someone who might be interested, please let us know—we would be happy to share more about our project and timeline. Each veteran will receive a commemorative book and a copy of their interview, and we'll celebrate their contributions with a spring reception. Included is a video clip that beautifully highlights the unit. https://www.wboc.com/shows/delmarvalife/picture-books-created-by-t-a-d-students-honor-history-and-our-veterans/video_3490f208-d336-5671-b2ad-38dc114b9ba6.html Please contact Kelly Hamilton is you are able to help: khamilto@mywcps.org
