Today, scholars had the incredible opportunity to connect with Multimedia/News Anchor Tierra Williams and Photographer Anthony Lawrence from WMDT 47! This exciting event offered an inside look into careers in media and communication, as students gained valuable insights and inspiration from these experienced professionals. Huge shout out to Career Coach, Mrs. Brinson, for her commitment to providing Wi-Middle scholars with these wonderful experiences. 🖤💛











Wicomico Teacher of the Year nominations closed last night, and we received 973 nominations this year! Thank you to everyone who took time to nominate an amazing teacher for this recognition. Mr. Jeff Lynd's trchnology class finished the Thangsgiving week witha fun and cool activity. They built and raced air canister cars. They had so much fun. 🏁 🏎 🖤💛💪🏾









Reminder: Students will be in school this Monday and Tuesday, and then schools and offices of Wicomico County Public Schools will be closed Nov. 27-29 for the Thanksgiving break. The school system will reopen on Monday, Dec. 2. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

A huge shout out to our very own choir teacher Mrs. Britinie Jordan and our 12 Wicomico Middle students that performed at the All-County Choir Concert held at the Wicomico High School auditorium. All of our secondary schools performed and Wicomico Middle School represented very well. Friday, November 22 Mrs. Berezowski had a wonderful lesson on the effects of smoking by displaying the difference between a non-smokers set of lungs and a smokers's lungs. Assistant principal Mrs. Lasinski was there to experience this amazing lesson. we are WMS this means more. 🖤💛💪🏾 🫁 Warrior Strong.


Reminder of the schedule for Wicomico County Public Schools next week: School is in session and offices are open Monday and Tuesday, and then the school system will be closed for Thanksgiving Break.

On Thursday, November 21, Wicomico County Public Schools held two Public Information Sessions regarding the current School Boundary Study and the two draft options for boundary changes.
There is now an ONLINE SURVEY open through Dec. 9 to gather feedback on the two draft options for the school boundary changes. Just scan the QR code in either English, Spanish or Haitian Creole to participate in this survey. We want to hear from you.

Students in the Young Business Leaders Signature School Program completed an engineering challenge yesterday where they had to collaborate to design and build a device that can pick up a ping pong ball from a distance and return it to a start line. The farther away the ball is, and the fewer materials they use to build your device, the higher the score.

On October 17th, teachers in the Young Business Leaders Signature School Program visited the Salisbury University Libraries Makerspace and the Dave and Patsy Rommel Center for Entrepreneurship downtown for continued professional development. We are excited for what is to come for the program!

A reminder that our annual Student Spotlight event will take place Tuesday, Nov. 19th from 8am-11am (periods 1-4). We look forward to having you visit so you can see your scholar shine!


Term two begins a new cycle for attendance and intervention plans. Please make sure your child has a doctor's or parent/guardian note for every absence and makes up any missed work. These notes should be taken by the student directly to the front vestibule of the school and placed in the absence notes bin each day. These notes can also be emailed by the parent to Ms. Ricks, Attendance Secretary, at lricks@mywcps.org.


Wicomico Middle's 1st Quarter Attendance Incentive (Movie Day~"Kung Fu Panda 4") took place today. There were a total of 643 scholars that were eligible to attend (76.8% of our school population). These students maintained the Maryland State Standard of being present at least 94% so far this school year. Be on the lookout for further incentives! Wi-Middle Proud! 🖤💛





Today students had the opportunity to participate in our first Career Talk segment "Public Safety and Law Edition" with Trooper First Class Ponder of the Maryland State Police. This event provided students with an exciting opportunity to learn about careers in law enforcement and gain insights from an experienced professional. Students also received donuts and a hot chocolate bar to enjoy during the presentation.
